长期从事功能高分子和纳米材料方面的研究,在绿色能源转化与存储领域做出了重要贡献。陈永胜提出了具有确定分子结构的高效有机光伏材料设计理念,多次刷新了有机太阳能电池领域的光电转换效率世界记录;提出了“三维交联石墨烯”高分子体相材料的构筑理念,所发展的三维石墨烯材料在从4到1200K的温度区间展现出独特的光、电、磁性能,并首次实现了宏观光驱动。先后主持国家973、863、重大研究计划、基金委重点项目等。发表Science、Nature及子刊、J. Am. Chem. Soc.、Angew. Chem.和Adv. Mater.等高水平研究论文400余篇,他引9万余次,H-Index 130,授权发明专利50余项。
